Benchmarking gaming systems
DuddieCat back again,
When he came to back home, BuffTabby, the oldest of Dulcies litter, had managed to get into some hot water and lost more than just a little fur. Basically he has had to start all over again without a job, his cat toys or even a tabby-tricycle to get around with.
Well I've been there and done that so I gotta say I can sympathize and you know it's rough restarting a territory without even a littlebox of your own to piss in.
So what does this have to do with Benchmarking your system? Little, so far, except to say that more and more us of seem to be making gaming a priority in life. As BuffTabby brought home to me when he spent a week talking about the sick system he was going to build. A system that could be home to the Gods of War and that would benchmark as faster than Mercury himself.
So we head out to Futurmark.com, a leader in benchmarking and start looking at system statistics. It turns out that gamers from all over the world send in their stats and you really can spec a system based on this knowlege base of other peoples successes and failures
It's pretty cool really. Now to save a couple of duckets so that I can get myself... what? A new, faster mouse, maybe? Just maybe.
