Today I discovered that the World Bank has a presence, at least in part, online.
The exploration of this fact is, on the surface, quite exciting. What better messanger of the global online community ccould we ask for than the World Bank. But, as we tred the deeper water, it is unclear to to what extent the World Bank is actually involved in the Second Life project.
The possibilities for bringing together interested parties from all over the world are staggering. That charity that puts laptops in 3rd world childrens hands, for instance. Have they considered loading virtual worlds on these machines so that these children can be exposed to multiple cultures and idea?
So much to explore still in Second Life.
